HYDERABAD: Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Institute of Chinese Studies in New Delhi. The MoU was signed by ASCI Director General Dr SK Rao and director-ICS Dr Alka Acharya. Ravi Bhoothalingam, a member on the governing bodies of ASCI and the ICS, facilitated this collaboration between the two institutions.
ICS started functioning in 1969. In 2010, it became a registered society (like ASCI). ICS is supported by substantial grants from the external affairs ministry.
Its funding agencies include Ford Foundation, the Japan Foundation, ICSSR, CII etc.
It has collaborations with several institutions in China such as the China Institute of Contemporary International Relations (Beijing), China Institute of International Studies (Beijing), Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Yunnan Academy of Social Sciences (Kunming) and more recently, Shanghai University of International Business & Economics.
