HYDERABAD: Expressing displeasure over his failure to obey court orders, Justice P Naveen Rao of the Hyderabad High Court summoned the joint sub-registrar of Ranga Reddy district to appear before the court on September 3 and also directed him to attend the Court on all adjournment dates until final orders are passed on charges made against him.

The judge issued the order in a contempt case filed by G Rama Avataram, representing the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) employees cooperative housing society, in  a complaint regarding willful violation of the court order and thereby causing loss and distress to over 805 families.

The district collector had found that multiple registrations have taken place with regard to the land purchased by the society. After 1981-82, several documents were registered with regard to the ownership of the same land.

Not satisfied with the reasons given by the district registrar for entertaining the subsequent transactions, including validation of unregistered assignment deed, the collector submitted a report stating that it was a clear violation of procedure and the registration department has failed to follow the provisions of the Registration and Stamps Act.

Considering the said report and after hearing the joint inspector general of stamps and registration, the high court passed orders on December 30, 2014 directing compliance of directions issued by the commissioner and Inspector General in memo dated Sept 17, 2012. As the order was not complied with, the present contempt case was filed.

The judge admitted the case and posted the matter to September 3 for appearance of the joint sub-registrar-1, RO(OB) of Ranga Reddy district to show cause as to why he shall not be punished for contempt of the court order.
