'Scientific Temper Must to Cure Society'

HYDERABAD: Scientific temper and constant inquiry are needed in all aspects of life to correct the mistakes of the past and to lay foundation for a society free of ills, Narisetti Innaiah, veteran journalist and rationalist, said.

“Only scientific approach can tackle societal ills and lead to evolution of a healthy society. Constant inquiry and self-correction are essential for the betterment of individuals and society. But scientific approach and methods are severely neglected in our society,” he said while delivering a lecture as part of ‘Anubhavaalu-Jnaapakaalu’ programme conducted by the Veteran Journalists Association (VJA) here on Saturday. Innaiah, who has a journalistic experience of more than five decades, spoke on the evolution of journalism over the past five to six decades in the Telugu states. He had also extensively contributed to many ideology-based publications like Radical Humanist. A Krishna Rao, deputy resident editor of The New Indian Express, stressed the role of media in addressing problems plaguing the society. Veteran Journalists Association president GS Varadachari, secretary K Lakshmana Rao, VP Udayavarlu attended the event.
