Music That Speaks Their Heart

HYDERABAD: Connecting to the audience is what members of Treo the band are aiming for by focusing on making songs based on love themes.  “We want to spread the message that love is not just an emotion between a girlfriend and boyfriend. Other forms of love are also equally important and that is what we are trying to tell through our music,” shares Ernest Abraham, vocalist and one of the band members.

The same band made their presence felt on the show MTV Roots, within four months of their entry into the industry. Their song, Woh Lamha was featured in October 26, 2012. “It was a euphoric moment for the band,” beams Ernest. Ajay Akhnoor and Darshan Sirigiri form the other two members of the band.

Apart from Woh Lamha,  Hum Toh, was another song that was featured on the show in 2014. Kyu Ki was played at KASHISH Mumbai International Queer Film Festival in 2014. After their successful stint on the show, the band has become a well-known name among music lovers. But the success did not come to them in a day. “We came up with a song Tum Ho and uploaded it on YouTube. Though the song was noticed by audience, we could not get recognition because we only uploaded the audio. We were looking for a way to get more publicity. That’s when Meghraj from Indus Gharana, another band from the city, came to help us. He is also reponsible for our entry into MTV Roots,” shares Ernest. That is how the band’s journey towards success took off. “I feel the music community in the city is very helpful to the newcomers,” opines Ernest.

As Ajay, an engineering third year student and Darshan could not spend the required time with the group, the members decided to increase their band size. Krishna and Emrald joined the troupe as lyricist and guitarist respectively last year.

The band also has the experience of working in Tollywood. “MTV Roots helped us get visibility and that got us projects from feature film directors. We composed a song Just wanna for the feature film Telisi Teliyaka that was released in the year 2013,” shares Ernest adding that the band has signed a five year contract with MTV India.

They are now shooting for a single Arariraro. “The song talks about the love of parents for their childern,” informs Ernest. It will be released on YouTube.

Ernest now wants to encourage independent artists by recording their videos and posting them on their YouTube channel to increase their visibility. He is looking forward to compose more songs for feature films.
