HYDERABAD: In a ghastly accident, three youngsters, including two grandsons of Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC) chairman and former Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police Pervaram Ramulu, were killed on the Outer Ring Road near Kokapet, 20 kms from Hyderabad, in the wee hours of Wednesday.

Varun Pawar (22), Amit Pawar and P Gnanadev died on the spot. Rahul Pawar, a cousin of the deceased, was admitted to the hospital and with grievous injuries.

The accident occurred at around 6.30 am when the Skoda Superb car in which the victims were travelling rammed against a slow moving milk truck on the ORR. Ramulu’s three grandsons and a nephew were returning from their farm house in Patancheru to their home in Barkatpura.

The impact of the accident was so huge that the front portion of the car got completely crushed under the rear of the milk truck. The milk tanker was proceeding in the same direction at a slower pace.

“The truck was moving on lane number 3. It appears the driver of the car lost control over the wheel and the vehicle smashed the truck from behind. The reason for the accident can be determined only after investigation,” said a Cyberabad police official.

Narsingi Police said all the four were BTech graduates and Amit Pawar was driving the car. While Amit and Varun Pawar were killed instantly, P Gnanadev, son of Ramulu’s brother, died later at a hospital.

The condition of Rahul Pawar, another grandson of Ramulu, is said to be critical. The car is registered in the name of Pervaram Indira, wife of Ramulu.
