HYDERABAD: City mayor Bonthu Rammohan has directed GHMC officials to coordinate with the municipal corporators concerned while executing developmental works pertaining to roads, sanitation, greenery, drinking water, protection of lakes and 100 percent garbage collection from door to door. The corporators have to see that all the civic works, which are in process, are speeded up and completed in the stipulated time.
The mayor, along with GHMC commissioner B Janardhan Reddy and corporators from Uppal circle held a review meeting on civic-related issues pertaining to east zone here on Friday. The mayor urged the corporators to involve Residential Welfare Associations (RWAs) in the civic works and to join hands with the GHMC staff for collection of property tax in their jurisdiction.
He asked officials of east zone and the corporators of Uppal circle to prepare a summer action plan and give priority to drinking water supply and arranging water tankers wherever necessary. Janardhan Reddy said involvement of citizens, corporators and Resident Welfare Associations would help the corporation take up civic works in a transparent manner. He said door-to door garbage collection was not progressing up to the expectations and everyone should take the responsibility to create awareness about it to ensure 100 per cent collection from households. The commissioner too requested the corporators to coordinate with GHMC officials in the collection of property tax.
