HYDERABAD: In a case of ‘revenge porn’, a jilted lover uploaded explicit intimate videos of his former partner on a porn website and distributed CDs of the video among the in-laws of the victim and her villagers.
Banda Rupesh (28), the accused, is a B Tech graduate and the victim developed an affair with him while studying B Tech at an engineering college in Tadepalligudem in Andhra Pradesh. While they were in relationship, Rupesh surreptitiously shot a private video.
After completing his studies, Rupesh shifted to Hyderabad and started a car servicing centre at Ayyappa Society in Cyberabad locality. Later, the woman parted ways with Rupesh and married another man. Not able to bear the rejection and her getting married to another man, Rupesh decided to take revenge. He uploaded their private video on a porn website, and circulated the link to the video among his friends. Not stopping at that, he fed the video into CDs and sent them to the victim’s in-laws and their neighbours.
Upset over the incident, the victim approached Cyberabad She Team. Cyberabad Cyber Crimes team nabbed Rupesh. Cases under Nirbhaya Act and IT Act are booked against him.
