Even after a year and a half, it still cracks me up when people scream Rape Randi

HYDERABAD: It all began on May 19, 2015. It was a hot summer day in Hyderabad when I set foot in the city of Nizam. My father and I, who were completely new to the Nizami culture, dumped our luggage at a government quarters near Secunderabad headed in search of authentic Hyderabadi biryani. Sorry for the stereoptype, but everyone relates Hyderabad with this delicacy. We enquired and got to know that Bawarchi at RTC X Roads served the best one in town. Little did I know I would encounter hard core Hyderabadi Hindi there. The bearer approached our table and asked ‘Kya hona?’ my father and I were literally clueless and looked at him with what exactly did he say. Later on we realised that he wanted us to place the order. Well, the biryani made it up for the shock but that was just the beginning. A few days later when I was reporting I heard a person screaming ‘Rape Randi.’ It just cracked me up and I happened to laugh out loudly in front of more than 25 Telugu speaking people. Though now I am used to it, it still makes me go ROFL!!!
