HYDERABAD: To make the online applications process easy, Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) has simplified the process in the uploading of documents pertaining to water supply connection applications.
In view of consumers finding it difficult to upload several pages of documents online, the Water Board has made certain modifications and issued instructions to the General Managers (Operation and Maintenance) on the same.
The Building Permit Order number as well as and Occupancy Certificate (OC) issued by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) or Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has to be entered in the online single-window application form for verification by HMWS&SB.
The officials concerned will verify the sale deed and OC uploaded online by applicants and would process the file further.
The Building Permit Order entered by the applicant in the online application form has to be downloaded from the website of the concerned authority and applicants have to ensure that the required details such as plot area, plinth area, number of flats etc. are accurate, and take printouts of the same as a record.
It may be recalled that in May, HMWS&SB introduced releasing of new connections through an online system (e-office) to promote user-friendliness in obtaining tap water connections.
The online process would help consumers avoid visiting HMWS&SB offices at regular intervals and checks harassment from officials, apart from corruption at various levels.Â
The process adopted at present is that after second level feasibility, the applicants have to submit in-person the documents such as a copy of the sale deed, development agreement, affidavit, copy of the approved sanctioned plan of the building, occupancy certificate and sanction permit order to the GM and DGM and obtain an acknowledgement.
Applications made easy
Only the first two and last two pages of sale deed document need to be uploaded
No face-to-face follow-up with HMWS&SB officials
