SIT questions actor Tanish for four hours; no samples collected

The Telugu actor was only asked about event managers and celebrities who are into drug abuse.

HYDERABAD: Telugu actor Tanish Alladi who was facing allegations of having links with drug peddlers caught in Hyderabad, attended questioning by the Special Investigation Team of state Prohibition and Excise department on Monday. Tanish was questioned by a team of officers from 10.30 am to 2.30 pm.
Sources said, “In the four-hour questioning, Tanish was almost let free most of the time and was only asked about event managers and about other celebrities who are into drug abuse in the last one hour. However, his body fluids, hair and nail scrapings have not been collected.”

“Drugs is a serious problem, which everyone should keep away from. Media also should inform officials if they get to know about anyone doing drugs,” Tanish said while talking to media after his questioning at SIT office.  He said that he cooperated well and answered questions asked by the SIT.

After analysing the call detail records and the WhatsApp conversations of accused Calvin, officials of enforcement wing had issued notices to film stars including Ravi Teja, Charmme Kaur and Mumaith Khan, Tarun, Navdeep, Subbaraju besides director Puri Jagannadh,

Two more questioned
The SIT officials on Monday questioned two persons Akhil Chaudhary and Nirupama Reddy, residents of Hyderabad, in connection with the drugs trafficking. The duo were summoned by SIT after their numbers and conversations were retrieved from the mobile phones of accused who were arrested with drugs in possession, said sources. With the information collected from the victims and summoned actors, the special teams of Excise department are hunting for peddlers in the city.

Tanish, who started his career as a child artist, was summoned by SIT along with 11 others including 10 film personalities for allegedly having links with the kingpin of the drugs trafficking racket — Calvin Mascarenhas, who was caught on July 2 by the Excise enforcement wing officials in possession of huge quantities of LSDs and other drugs.

Actor Ananda Krishna to be questioned today
Telugu actor Ananda Krishna alias Nandu, would be questioned on Tuesday from 10 am at SIT office in Nampally, said Excise (Enforcement wing) director Akun Sabharwal in a note on Monday.
Nandu, who initially created drama by claiming that he was never issued notices and did never receive summons from the SIT in connection with the drugs trafficking case is expected to be grilled by the sleuths for longer time, said sources.The actor had visited the SIT office after reports emerged about the summons issued to film stars and staged drama in front of the office. He even told media that he would give his blood samples for forensic analysis, claiming his innocence.
