HYDERABAD: A bevy of stars including Taapsee Pannu, Pragya Jaiswal, Boyapati Sreenu, Teja, Bheems Ceciroleo, Sai Kartik and Shakti Kanth Karteek got busy last weekend to crown Hyderabad’s next singing sensation. Touted as India’s biggest singing talent hunt LuvIt Chocolates Presents - Radio City Super Singer Season 9 at Inorbit Mall Cyberabad reached its crescendo by breaking all the records with highest ever participation across the country. Singer Gowri emerged as the top of the final contestants and was rewarded with cash prize of `1 lakh. After intense competition spanning three weeks, the top six participants- Sanjana, Gowri, Suman, Gayatri, Samantha, Ranjith were shortlisted.
The finale, held at Inorbit Mall, Cyberabad saw the six finalists mesmerize the audience with their mellifluous voices.This year the contest extended to 11 more stations, covering 39 cities nationally.
Participants from the city registered through Radio City’s digital platform -radiocity.in, IVRS, in-studio and mall auditions. Aspiring singers were also given the opportunity to audition on-the-go through Radio City branded vehicles that went around to every corner of the city making participation even easier.
On this occasion, Kartik Kalla, EVP & National Head – Programming, Marketing & Auda CITY, Radio City 91.1 FM said, “We saw an overwhelming response of six lakh participants across the country that highlights the impact and the power of this medium.”
