Prof Tirupati Rao’s visit to Hyderabad schools is an eye wash, says HSPA

HYDERABAD: Following the failure of the Prof Tirupati Rao committee to submit its report on November 15, parents have alleged that Prof Rao’s visit to private schools across the city are token visits and an eyewash to show that some work is being done, which just means that report will be delayed further. So far, he is said to have visited 10-15 schools in the city and is expected to visit schools in various districts in the coming weeks.

HSPA also rued that the committee has not yet given any concrete plan of action to study and submit the report and is working in an ad hoc manner. “Aspects like the present school visits, for instance, are added only when HSPA asks reasons for the delay and only after the set deadline is over. There is still no word from the committee as to when it plans to submit the report finally,” said Ashish Naredi, a member.

Though School Education Department had earlier said that it would share the list of schools visited, it has backed out, said Ashish. Chirec, Indus World School, Delhi School of Excellence, Future Kids and Glendale Academy are some of the schools that Prof Rao has visited. Some of these school managements are said to have lined up a section of parents selected by them to speak to Prof. Tirupathi Rao that they have no problem with any amount of fee charged by the school.
