HYDERABAD: Hyderabad lad Akshay Neelakantam bagged the prestigious Dellywood Mr. India 2017 title, at a glittering event held at the Hotel Retreat in Mumbai last week. The competition witnessed a close contest between 100 ‘macho’ men, and it was the nuance of Akshay that helped him bag the coveted title. Recently, Akshay met Minister for Cinematography, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, who congratulated Akshay for making Hyderabad proud. 

Born and brought up in Hyderabad, Akshay studied at the Little Flower High School and did his engineering from the Swami Vivekananda Institute of Science & Technology, Hyderabad. He completed his masters in Business Administration from the Amity Business School, Delhi. Akshay wants to make a career in film and plans to enter into Tollywood.

Commenting on his success, Akshay, Mr. India 2017 said, “It was a tight contest among the best to win the title. I am extremely passionate when it comes to fitness as I feel that a fit body represents a calm mind.” 
Chandigardh lad Navleen Singh finished first Runner-up and Mohtsham Qayoom of Srinagar was adjudged the secnd runner-up at the event. Celebrities like Tanaz Irani, Hindi TV actresses Kishwer Merchant, Poonam Jhawar were present to grace the gala event.Dellywood organises the annual Mr. India, Ms. India and Mrs India title contest under the aegis of Mr. Vinod Ahlawat and Mrs. Onam Ahlawat. The event was choreographed by Babla Khaturia.
