HYDERABAD: Sleuths of the excise department who came across psychedelic drug called DMT for the first time in Hyderabad, after the arrest of Dutch national Mike Kamminga, strongly believe that the accused has stashed away more narcotics safely somewhere.
They suspect that a large stash of narcotics may be hidden by him in a vehicle or at a discreet location in Hyderabad or Cyberabad limits. Though excise sleuths searched for the narcotics at Kamminga’s residence, they could not find any. The excise department personnel have sent Kamminga’s phone and laptop to an agency to break into them since they were locked. The sleuths hope that phone and laptop records will help them know if he has supplied DMT or other drugs to anybody.
When they caught Kemminga, the excise cops had seized one of the most powerful drug DMT (N,N-Dimethyltryptamine) from him. During questioning, officials said, Kamminga appeared relaxed and refused to open up. He was produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody.
The chances of finding the stash of drugs are slim unless the excise cops get his custody for questioning.
“We are not in a position to retrieve it. He is not cooperating and has refused to unlock his phone. We can get the details only after taking him into our custody. We produced him in court on Wednesday,” sources said.
Sources said that the sleuths got leads on Kamminga from one of the actors they questioned. Based on the tip-off, they apprehended Kamminga and seized 2.5 gms of DMT. The gated community in Nanakramguda, where he stays, is home to some Tollywood actors.

The excise department served notices on 13 IT firms here as some of the employees of these companies were said to be consuming drugs. Excise minister T Padma Rao Goud has said that notices were also issued to 26 colleges and 25 schools in drugs case
