HYDERABAD: Ex-minister Mukesh Goud’s son Vikram Goud, who received bullet injuries while at home on Thursday, has told police that he was shot. This is in line with the statement his wife has given police following the incident. However, all the clues collected so far suggest it could have been a suicide attempt and not murder attempt. In spite of the clues, a team each is now investigating on both possibilities. Police have come to conclude that an unlicensed weapon was used in opening fire.

On Saturday, police asked Vikram about his disturbed relationship with parents, financial losses in business and other aspects. However, in reply, Vikram has stated that none of those issues bothered him. The Task Force sleuths and West Zone police have intensified the investigation on Saturday.

Police questioned Vikram Goud, his wife Shipali and others at the residence again on Saturday. Shipali was asked if the mysterious firing incident was a result of any heated argument between the couple. Vikram Goud denied any differences with his wife.

He reiterated that he was sitting on the sofa in the drawing room when unidentified miscreants entered his residence and shot him.

“We have done preliminary probe in to the case and obtained leads. The process of investigation will come to an end soon,” a police officer told Express.

Minutes after the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Task Force, B Limba Reddy and other police officials visited a private hospital and questioned Goud.

Goud is said to be stable. He is maintained on oxygen support, analgesics and other supportive care. He will be kept in ICU for further monitoring.
