Hyderabad touches 40-degree celsius mark

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad witnessed a hot and humid day on Tuesday with Mercury levels soared past 40 degrees Celsius at various parts of the city as . However, a thunderstorm warning has also been issued by weather watchers.

According to the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), the city crossed the 40 degrees Celsius mark registering 40.3 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. Secunderabad, Patancheruvu, and Bahadurpura cross touched the mark.

Several places in the city including Secunderabad, Ameerpet, Musheerabad, and Bandlaguda crossed the 40 degree Celsius mark. And many other places in the city was recorded between 37 - 40 degrees Celsius.

The highest temperatures were recorded between 2 p.m, and 4 p.m. Meanwhile, other districts in the State - Jagitial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, and Mancherial recorded 42.9 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, thunderstorm warning continues to loom the State including parts of the city as the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad has issued a thunderstorm warning for Wednesday as well.

"Thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Adilabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Medak, Kamareddy, Sangareddy, Vikarabad, Mahbubnagar, Jogulamba-Gadwal, Wanaparty, Nagarkurnool and Rangareddy of Telangana," read a thunderstorm warning issued by IMD.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at isolated places on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, a release from Meteorological centre read.
