Teacher held for beating student in Chaitanyapuri

A physical education teacher of a private school has been arrested and produced in the court for allegedly beating a Class VI student at a private school in Chaitanyapuri. 

HYDERABAD: A physical education teacher of a private school has been arrested and produced in the court for allegedly beating a Class VI student at a private school in Chaitanyapuri.  The incident that took place at Genius Grammar School in Chaitanyapuri on Wednesday came to light on Saturday, following the arrest of the PET by the police. According to the police, the student was talking to another student when the teacher was not present in the class on Wednesday.

PET M Sathish, who was passing by the classroom, saw the students talking and entered the class to only beat the children. The PET beat both the students and confined one of them in a room till all the students left the school.

His elder sister, who got to know about this, informed her father Hari Babu, who in turn went to the school and brought his son home. The boy’s mother noticed the bleeding injuries on her son and showed them to her husband.

Following this, Hari Babu lodged a complaint with the Chaitanyapuri police against PET Sathish. Chaitanyapuri SI Eroji said the complainant alleged PET M Sathish (29) working in Genius Grammar School, had hurt his son and punished him cruelly. A case was registered against the PET under sections 323 of IPC and section 75 of Juvenile Justice Act and police arrested him on Saturday, said the SI.
