HYDERABAD: A 27-year-old woman allegedly killed her two sons, aged 10 and 8, before dying by suicide at her residence in Khaithalapur village under the limits of Kukatpally Police Station on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as S Banoth Sravanthi (27), B Karthik (10) and B Koushik (8). Karthik was studying in Class 6, while Koushik was in Class 3.
Kukatpally police received information through a Dial 100 call in the afternoon. On reaching the spot, police found the three bodies lying inside a room.
During inquiry, police found that Sravanthi’s husband, Boda Praveen (31), is a native of Manikyam Thanda in Chennaraopet mandal of Warangal district. He married Sravanthi nearly 13 years ago. She belonged to Padaharu Chinthala Thanda in the same mandal. After marriage, the couple lived together for several years and had two children.
Police said Praveen had reportedly married another woman a few months ago, which led to frequent disputes between the couple. Cases had also been registered following earlier complaints.
Four days ago, after an argument, Sravanthi went to her native village in Warangal. Praveen later brought her back to Hyderabad after discussions with elders in the thanda, assuring them he would take proper care of her.
He left for work on Tuesday morning and returned around 1 pm. As there was no response when he knocked on the door, he broke it open with the help of neighbours and found the three dead inside.
