THE earth is made up of water and so is the human body. A revealing discovery, with photographs to match, that water absorbs sound and forms specific patterns of crystals in tune with the emotions caused by the sounds has been made by Dr Masaru Emoto, a graduate of the Yokohama Municipal University and a doctor of Alternative Medicine. Hidden Messages in Water was first published in Japan. Using high-speed digital photography, Dr. Emoto has shown how concentrated thoughts directed towards water - like Gratitude, or music from Beethoven and Bach, pictures of the Earth, photographs of nature - can bring out the most beautiful jewel-like crystals in water.
On the other hand, polluted water or water exposed to negative thoughts forms incomplete and asymmetrical patterns with a shapeless blob in the middle in dull colours. Water absorbs and copies emotions, scenes and words. The body is composed of 70 percent water and so is the environment around us. It is an ancient Indian belief that the atmosphere, earth, water, fire, air and space absorb sounds and create patterns and images that are either positive or negative. Naturally flowing water has its own magnificent energy levels, says Sultan Ahmed Ismail, director of the Ecoscience Research Foundation. The high energy levels are the reason why people gave a divine status to the water of the Ganga, Zum Zum from Mecca or the Holy Water in Christian Traditions, he says.
At the end of an interesting narration of several experiments, Dr. Emoto says, “I have constantly stressed the importance of love and gratitude…As the water crystals show us, gratitude and love can spread throughout the world.”
