KOCHI: The government as well as the parents have been giving special care to the education of their children despite the stress and difficulties they face in the process, said Jancy James, Vice-Chancellor, Central University, Kasargod.

“Our students, after coming out of educational institutions go abroad to work in internationally reputed organisations. However, some of them neither get a job nor they know how to earn a living.” she said.

“Life skills and values have to be inculcated along with formal education.

The educational slogan for the 21st century is ‘Learn to lead and learn to live’. Be prepared to work, to work with skill and optimism where sky is the limit,” she said.

Sahodaya school president Maya Mohan welcomed the gathering while secretary R Sunitha proposed a vote of thanks.
