

KOCHI: Hairomax Miss South India is a pageant designed to discover the freedom of expression and talent of the women of South India.
Scouting all over India, the pageant brings together the culture and tradition of India in its truest colours. It also showcases South India in all its splendour with the exciting blend of culture and beauty to the entire world.
The pageant is set to help the South Indian women transform themselves from a group of conformists to a progressive and achievement-oriented class.
This is the eighth year Pegasus, the notable event makers, is celebrating South India’s largest talent hunt to mark out the beauty and brain. Pegasus has been able to change the life of many girls all over the world through these extravagavzas.
Pegasus was established in the year 2000 as a proprietary firm, carrying out event managements. But in the year 2002, the company conceived the idea of conducting beauty pageants under the title of “Miss South India,” and surprisingly, it was able to begin the event and crown the winner the same year.
This year, 16 contestants have been selected to walk the ramp at the grand finale to be held at the Le Meridian, Kochi, on 6 November. And they are Aishwarya Muraleedharan, Geethu Christy, Priyanka Mohan and Denita Anand from Kerala, Jyothi Kirpilani, Megha Chavan, Sneha Ramesh and Janani Senthil from Tamil Nadu, and Prarthana Nanaiah, Parvathy Venugopal, Deepika Goswami and Shubha Phutela from Karnataka. Nikitha Narayan, Gazel Somaiah, Krithika Mathew and Divya M S make the Andhra Pradesh band.
“We don’t charge a penny from the contestants. This is a training school where we mould the bold and the beautiful to win at the pageant. And this year, we have decided to bear the expenses of heart surgeries of two kids at Sunrise Hospital,” said Ajit Ravi, chairman of the Pegasus.
The grooming sessions consisting of yoga, meditation, personality development, catwalk, beauty tips, photo shoot, interaction and talent search have already been started. Contestants are groomed by an expert panel of fashion choreographers and trainers including Arun Ratna (Fashion Runway), Sameer Khan (Elite Model Management), Valentina Mishra (Valen’s Model Management), Jayagopal (personality development trainer) and Jaison Paulson Jaison (Fitness First).
The title winner will have a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, while the first and second runners up will have gifts worth Rs 50,000 and 25,0000 respectively.
Gold plated crowns designed by the Parakkat couple will be given to all winners.
Other titles waiting are Miss Beautiful Hair, Miss Beautiful Smile, Miss Beautiful Skin, Miss Beautiful Face, Miss Beautiful Eyes, Miss Congeniality, Miss Cat Walk, Miss Perfect 10, Miss Talented and Miss Photogenic.
The three-and-a-half-hour programme with four sequences and cultural extravaganzas will be judged by former Miss India and actress Ms Swetha Vijay, Tamil actress Ms Aditi Chibber, Telugu actor Kaushal Prasad, model Ms Simer Mottiani, groomer Manish Khullar, media personalities and fashion designers.
