KOCHI: Enthused by the success of his latest venture Yakshiyum Njanum, director Vinayan on Wednesday said the success of the movie was an indication of the movielovers rubbishing a ban imposed on him by a section of Mollywood.
He said the success of the movie was an eyeopener to the elite class in the Mollywood who imposed a ban on him. "The success of Yakshiyum Njanum is a reminder to those who impose ban on artistes that such restrictions will not be a hindrance to the expression of artistic talents," Vinayan said.
Vinayan said he was thankful to the movie buffs in the state who rated 'Yakshiyum Njanum' on the top slot among the Onam releases.
"The movie has grossed Rs 1.5 crore from seventy stations in the first week alone. And, the irony is that the Producers Association and the FEFKA tried to sabotage the release of the movie.
Hence, the public and the media should analyse whether these associations are trying to make or mar the Malayalam cinema," Vinayan added.
He said the melodious songs and good graphic work also contributed to the success of the movie. About his future projects, he said his next movie Freedom Fighter will have actor Thilakan and a child artiste in the lead roles. Another multistarrer Alibabayum 40 Kallanmarum Oru Kalliyum is also in the planning stage, Vinayan said.
