KOCHI: Amrita TV has bagged 14 of the 37 awards announced at the Kerala State Television Awards 2009. The awards have been bestowed on Amrita TV in diverse categories and genres such as telefilm, teleserial, current affairs, reality show, infotainment and education. Amrita TV is the only channel to win accolades across all departments of television production, viz, direction, acting, music direction, script writing, videography, editing, sound recording, compering and dubbing.

In the category of telefilms, Amrita TV won seven awards for 'Athira' and 'Nizhalum Nilavum Parayunnathu."

In the current affairs genre, Amrita TV bagged top honours for its pioneering reality show,'Best Citizen Journalist.' The channel was presented with three awards for its teleserials, 'Swartham' and 'Vadakaku Oru Hridayam.'

The trendsetter show, 'Cinema Karyangal,' which reveals the unknown aspects of film making got the award for the best educational programme. Two other programmess which walked away with the awards for best compere and best commentator were 'Taste of Kerala' and 'Inalathe Tharam' respectively.
