TRIPUNITHURA: The new dental mechanical laboratory at Tripunithura Taluk Hospital has given the locals a reason to smile. The laboratory was inaugurated by Excise and Ports Minister K Babu on Monday.
In his inaugural speech, the Minister emphasised on the need for more quality dental solutions in the area. “Including the two government dental laboratories operating at Ernakulam General Hospital and Perumbavoor Taluk Hospital each, this is only third such facility in the district,” he said.
The Minister also added that the laboratory would be a huge relief to the people for its affordable services. “The affordable services at the hospital will be made accessible to all. For instance, an artificial teeth set will be charged `700 which is very less compared to the amount charged by the private hospitals,” he said. With quality treatment at their doorstep, he asked the public to utilise these services effectively. The dental laboratory was set up at a cost of `1.5 lakh which was granted by the National Rural Health Mission.
Tripunithura Municipal chairman R Venugopal presided over the function which was also attended by National Rural Health Mission District Programme manager K V Beena. Tripunithura Taluk Hospital Superintendent Mani Yogidas, Tripunithura Muncipal Vice-chairperson Thilothama Suresh, Tripunithura Municipal Opposition Leader C N Sundaren, Municipal Health Standing Committee Chairman T K Suresh, Taluk Hospital Dental Surgeon Vinu Varghese were also present.
