A Kerala Yatra led by
students of Labour India will be organised by the World Malayali Council(WMC)
on November 17 in Kottayam in connection with the WMC’s national conference.
The Yatra from Thiruvananthapuram to Kasargod
aims to create awareness on waste management among the public through students.
Kitchen waste disposal is a big issue
and the yatra aims to resolve it by advocating the installation of pipe compost
which according to them are efficient, affordable and eco-friendly.
As the yatra proceeds across the state,
thousands of students will join it espousing the cause of proper waste
management.
They will hand over six-inch PVC pipes to
select schools and teach them about pipe composting.
