It was a dream-come-true moment for Kannamali-native Molly, who has  forayed into cinema through Chavittunatakam.

Though Molly, the renowned Chavittunatakam artist, became film actor through director Sathyan Anthikkad’s Puthiya Theerangal, she did not even have a  home of her own.

But, her shelterless days are a thing of past with Molly becoming the proud owner of a little home. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy handed over the key of the newly-constructed home to her in the presence of Union Minister of State for Food and Civil Supplies K V Thomas, NRI businessman C K Menon, who donated the house to Molly, Dominic Presentation MLA and Satyan Anthikkad, the director who brought Molly to the silver screen.

It was K V Thomas who took the initiative for constructing a house to Molly. He requested Menon, who readily agreed to sponsor the house. The house was constructed at an estimated cost of `7 lakh by Wadhiar Constructions.

Director Sathyan Anthikkad said that he will cherish the moment just like his film crossing hundred days. “When I came here for the foundation-stone laying of the house some four months ago, I never thought that the construction will be completed so fast. I am glad that the Minister has kept his word,” Anthikkad added.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister’s visit to Molly’s home also brought unexpected joy for another homeless woman Beatrice. She handed over a memorandum to the Chief Minister for allowing grand for constructing a house with a plea that her request not be dumped into a bin.

Oommen Chandy soon handed over the memorandum to Menon who asked his assistants to make necessary arrangements.
