Spreading the Warmth of Christmas

In an attempt to make the occasion for the under privileged children, school students have chalked out extravagant celebrations and initiated various social welfare projects for them

The spirit of Christmas expects one to share the love, happiness and warmth of the birth of Jesus. The joy of gifting during Christmas only doubles up the spirit of the festival, and this is exactly what students from various schools are up to. What students of the Concorde English Higher Secondary School, Chiramenangad in Thrissur, have done this Christmas is just an example. The students decided to keep aside their extravagant Christmas celebrations this year for a cause.

They collected a total of `35,000 and handed over the money to a batchmate who had lost his father recently. The money was handed over at a function presided over by school manager R M Basheer.

Now, how about collecting pencils for a cause? Well, this is what students of the Global Public School, Thiruvaniyoor, have done this Christmas. In a move to spread the goodness of Christmas, students from classes V to X of the Kindness Club of the school have collected about 1,200 pencils. These pencils will be gifted to under-privileged children.

The members of the Kindness Club also plan to distribute medicines, food and clothes to inmates of poor homes and orphanages. The club members have also planned an array of events to be held from January.
