The Home Department has blacklisted Rejith Kumar, a Botany lecturer at the Sree Sankara College, Kalady, from the list of speakers enrolled to address various programmes in the schools and colleges of the state.
Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan told reporters in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday that the decision was in view of the controversial and derogatory statements he had made against modern day women while addressing a meet at the Women’s College in Thiruvananthapuram a few days ago, at a function organised in connection with the Student Cadet Corps.
Asked whether the action against him was just confined to blacklisting from the list of speakers alone, the Minister said that it was only a beginning and more will follow suit. Renowned for conducting free counselling sessions for students in schools, Rejith Kumar however drew flak when he had turned against the lifestyles of women.
