Here is a good news for women. The State Public Work Department (PWD) has come up with ‘Eves Toilet’, a high-tech bio-toilet for women. The first-of-its kind in the state will be inaugurated by PWD Minister V K Ebrahim Kunju at Kalamassery Women Poly-Technic college campus on Tuesday.
According to a media release, Eve’s toilet project is a pilot project of the PWD.
At a later phase, the PWD is planning to launch Eve’s toilets across the state at schools and colleges as part of its Unarvu Educational Project.The main feature of the toilet is that it will ensure total security and privacy for women. The PWD has developed a special mobile application which will help public to identify the location of the toilet. The special facility of the doors will prevent the misuse of toilets.
The high-tech toilet has a lot of features too. There will be a censoring system to ensure water availability and warning system .
The PWD electronic section has developed the toilet at a cost of `6 lakh. The focus in first phase will be to provide Eves Toilet to educational institutions. Later it will be extended to government offices and public places, said the release.
