At a time when the social media applications are revolutionising  communication all over the world, here is another on the brigade. The new app ‘OCHA’ (sound) formed by eight tech-savvy people of different age,  location and work was released on Monday. OCHA is a unique audio app that can be used to send film dialogue - the application has a huge datebase of Malayalam film hit dialogue - in response to various posts. The dialogue that convey any emotion can be send by simply clicking on the app.

Interestingly, most of the team members haven’t met each other and are only familiar through Twitter Handle.  According to the developers, the app is on the lines of Facebook memes and has the potential to become a huge hit among the users. The app has     crackling dialogues, including the “Polandine kurichu oraksharam mindaruthu...” from ‘Sandesham’ and the evergreen ‘Pavanayi shavamayi’ by Captain Raju in Nadodikattu. Around 500 plus database of such dialogues are  in the app now.

The users can also select from the varying emoticons such as ‘Kalipp’,  ‘Dhesyam’, ‘Jokes’ and ‘Para’. Apart from these, another option called ‘Palavaka’ also features a variety of emotions. This is available for apps that enable sending audio files, including WhatsApp.

The interesting part is that none of the members want to reveal their identity and are known in Twitter handles as @ Sa_th, @Dinkan, @UrvashiTheatres, @njanaaramon, @NjanAara, @appukuttan_dr, @theKeeleri and @GovindaSunil.

Among the members, @Dinkan told ‘Express’ that they prefer to be known by  their funny avatars.

He added that the app will be lively extension of Facebook memes. “More   features will be added in the future. Now, we don’t have a search option but we will include it soon,” @Dinkan said.

@Dinkan added that some of the founders were IT professionals while some were students. “Since the group members are of different age groups , different thoughts and ideas depending on the experience and contacts surface,” he said. ‘OCHA’ can be downloaded from the Google Playstore.
