KOCHI: Royal Enfield has always been a symbol of luxury and pride in the Indian two-wheeler industry. In 1899, the company started its journey by producing bicycles and today the Royal Enfield has become the first choice of Indian motorcycle maniacs whenever it comes to the luxury two-wheeler category.

Bullet 500 is the most favoured and featured hit product of RE brand. They got an engine upgrade while its other class ‘Thunderbird’ got a comprehensive update.

The new Royal Enfield machines are packed with brand new UCE engines and it has definitely changed RE’s future.

RE’s Continental GT with ‘cafe racer’ look, a term that describes a style of motorcycle for quick rides from one “transport cafe” or coffee bar to another, will make you fall in love with it.

The retro fuel tank, boxy side panels, traditional round headlight and exposed chassis lend the motorcycle a masculine appeal. The yellow rear shocks along with spoke wheels makes this beast complete.

This power machine is packed with fuel-injected 535 cc unit construction engine which delivers an outstanding power of 29.1 bhp and a maximum torque of 44Nm, more than enough to conquer the highways.

Also the lighter flywheel, along with improved power-to-weight ratio gives the Continental GT more responsiveness, push and swiftness.

The seating is more crouched and closed, yet it offers an appropriate riding posture for sporty, flexible and a fun ride.

Moreover, the carved seat with contrast stitching allows the rider to gain maximum response from the road and the rider may feel a little flashy when the knee touches the side of the carved fuel tank.

The sleek backlit instrument cluster offers two pods and hence it includes more features and advanced options such as engine check light, battery warning indicator and turn indicators with high beam etc. The braking is handled by a massive 300 mm floating disc up front from Brembo and a matched 240 mm disc is used at the rear.

The front gets revised shock absorbers with new internals, and features a traditional fork brace. On the rear exists matched gas charged shock absorbers.

The 100/90 x 18 inch Pirelli sport demon tyre used on the front is completely new mounted on a lightweight but strong hub. This allows the riders to confidently ride on the road and the track, whatever the choice.

The brilliant combination of flawless engineering and traditional Royal Enfield culture has made the Continental GT look fantastic and popular around the globe. It is available in two colour variants, the GT red and GT yellow. The ex-showroom price is around Rs 1,90,000.
