KOCHI: After the successful launch of Grand i10, the Korean automobile giant again hits the global automobile market with its new upgrade. Yes, Hyundai’s new Elite i20 is all set to take over the Indian roads.
The looks are more elegant with its swept-back, elongated headlamps and long-flowing character lines, which are the signature elements of the ‘Fluidic sculpture 2.0’ design. The all-new sporty fog lamps complementing the headlamps provide maximum penetration in foggy driving. The distinctive-looking black colour side moulding imparts sporty looks and prevents side scratches to the body.
There is no compromise on luxury and comfort in the interiors either. The front and rear seats, that are well-cushioned and spacious, offer more comfort and maximum leg space, making long drives easeful. Also, the next-generation audio system gives you more entertainment and the fully automatic AC maintains the desired cabin temperature. The cluster ioniser generates ions to purify and deodorise cabin for a healthier and pleasant ride.
Another important feature of this car is the availability of 285L luggage space while the rear seat is in place. Moreover, the glove box cooling facility, front console armrest with storage space and luggage lamps add more details to this machine. Coming to the performance part, the 1.2L Kappa engine incorporates Dual Variable Valve Timing (VTVT), offering optimum fuel efficiency and performance. With a maximum power of 83ps@6,000 rpm and a torque output of 11.7 kgm, the i20 1.2L engine is no crouch. Also when it comes to the diesel version, the 1.4 L U2 CRDi engine is technologically advanced and offers outstanding performance.
The security features are far better compared to the previous versions. The front dual airbags act as a supplementary restraint system, preventing injuries in case of front impact. Also, the headlamp escort function allows the headlamps to be in ON condition for a limited time after the car is locked to illuminate the path if parked in dark condition. Apart from these, the rear parking assist system, rear defogger, anti-pinch power windows and auto light control system guarantee something more compared to other premium hatchbacks of its class. The advanced informative supervision cluster provides you adequate information about your machine’s performance. “The previous version of i20 was a huge success. As a result, the sale of new Elite i20 is also gaining momentum since we are receiving around 50 bookings per day through our various showrooms. Both the petrol and diesel versions are equally favoured by the public. Elite i20 is available in colour variants of white, silver, red, and blue. The ex-showroom price starts at `5 lakh.
