KOCHI: For music lovers, this is one name that will make their hearts skip a beat. Boney M ft Maizie Williams is all set to bring Daddy Cool to Kochi on February 14.
Boney M, an unforgettable name in the history of music, came together in 1976 as a glamorous and cult disco dance group and has since then occupied a special place in the hearts of music lovers all over the world. Original band member Maizie Williams, now 63, will lead an 11-member troupe to Kochi. She promises to deliver a crowd-stopping show that will bring the past to the present. The concert will be held at the Marine Drive grounds. The show is part of Boney M’s two-nation tour, which includes Oman and India.
It is expected that the troupe will perform their hit numbers including Daddy Cool, Ma Baker, Mary Boy’s Child, Brown Girl in the Ring, Rasputin and their most famous offering Rivers Of Babylon.
Boney M was created by the German record producer Frank Farian.
Originally based in Germany, the four original members of the group’s official line-up were Jamaican-born singers Liz Mitchell and Marcia Barrett, Maizie Williams from Montserrat and Bobby Farrell from
Aruba. The group was formed in 1976 and achieved popularity during the disco era of the late 1970s.
