Though she may not have been able to live up to the promise she showed in Fashion (2008), Mugdha Godse has some films to look forward to, like Bezubaan Ishq and a title role in Romila.

Are you playing the title role in the recently launched Romila?

My role is that of the title character, Romila. I play a Bengali lady; a woman of today who is bold and empowered. I am very excited about working in the film.

Buzz has it that it is a bold role.

It’s nothing extraordinary. It’s a nice, well-written script so I am sure people will like the film.

TV actor Kushal Tandon is making his debut opposite you. Have you seen his earlier work?

I have seen Kushal’s work on TV; he is a good actor. We have not started shooting yet so once we start shooting we shall get to know more. But I am sure it’s going to be fun working with him.

You were noticed in films like Fashion (2008) and Heroine (2012) but why do you take long breaks between films?

I don’t want to make any mistake by taking hasty decisions. My first film Fashion was a hit and my performance was appreciated so naturally a number of offers started coming in.

But I was sure about what to do and what not to do. I could have signed a number of films but if they didn’t work, everything would have gone wrong for me. So I decided to choose the right projects.

Are you satisfied with your professional journey so far?

It has been great ... in one word ‘fantastic’! I have been fortunate to get a very warm welcome to the industry and I have been offered some very good projects.

My co-stars in all the films have been great to work with. Now, I have to make sure that I work hard and come up with some good performances to stay here for a longer period.
