CCL Season 6: Mohanlal to Lead Kerala Strikers

KOCHI:  Hinting that the sixth season of Celebrity Cricket league (CCL) will be a crowd puller, the Amma Kerala strikers here on Monday announced that Superstar Mohanlal will lead the Kerala Strikers, which will kickstart its CCL campaign at Mumbai TBD Stadium on January 23. 

“Though Mohanlal was with the team, he remained as a non-playing captain but this year he will lead the team from the front. Mohanlal’s health condition is fine and he also informed that he will be playing for the team. Any way this will be officially announced only after the training camp,” said Edavela Babu, team manager and secretary of AMMA while holding a press conference to announce the list of team players.

The Players

Asif Ali, Unnimukundan, Riyas Khan, Bineesh Kodiyeri, Manikkuttan, Saiju Kuruppu, Nivin Pauly, Bala, Arjun Nandakumar, Vinu Mohan, Suresh nayar, Prajob Kalabhavan, Sreejith Ravi, Munna, Vivek Gopan, Arun Benny, Shafeek Rahman, Sanju Sivaram and Sumesh are the players which have been announced to play in the camp which will commence in the first week of January.

Rajeev Pillai and Kunchakko Boboban will not be able to participate in the camp.

The opening match of the Kerala strikers will be held against Karnataka bulldozers at Bangalore Chinnaswami stadium.

“There will be two matches at Kaloor International stadium on Jan 31. In the first match Karnataka Bull dozers will meet Telugu warriors and the second match Kerala strikers will play against Chennai Rhinos. As our team has so many experienced players, we can definitely show case a better match,” added Edavela Babu. 

The Kerala Strikers franchise is owned by Mohanlal, Sripriya Sethupathi, Rajkumar Sethupthi, Jaison Pullikottil and  P M Shaji.
