KOCHI: As part of the efforts to provide a comfortable and pleasant lounge for passengers, Railways opened a stylish waiting room, managed by Kudumbashree, at Ernakulam Junction Railway Station. Rajesh Chandran, area manager, Southern Railway, Kochi, inaugurated the waiting room in the presence of Tani Thomas, District Mission Coordinator, at a function held on Saturday.

The air-conditioned lounge will have comfy sofas, television, mobile charging points, kids’ playing zone, space for breastfeeding women and other facilities. Besides, the toilets and lavatories attached to the waiting room will be kept spick and span by Kudumbashree workers.

There will also be a reception booth managed by courteous staff, who will offer all possible assistance to the commuters.
