KOCHI: The ultimate responsibility of a teacher should be to teach students, and research and paper preparation come only second to that, said educationist Dr M S Valiathan.
He was speaking after giving away the Professor M V Pylee Award for the Best Academician to Jancy James, former Vice-chancellor of MG University and Central University.
The number of teachers who are capable of inspiring students is declining at an alarming rate. “It has become a difficult task to find good teachers,” he said.
