KOCHI: Navy Children School - Kochi (NCS-K) on Tuesday celebrated the 30th Annual Sports Day at the Command Stadium, Naval Base, here.
Southern Naval Command Chief of Staff Rear Admiral R B Pandit, who was the chief guest at the function, hoisted the flag to inaugurate the celebration, along with the NCS-K chairman.
The welcome address by NCS-K principal Nellie Paul Verghese was followed by an impressive parade by the various platoons. The school choir enthralled the audience with a harmonious rendition of the school anthem.
The other attractions were a colourful performance of aerobics, enthusiastic display of yoga, performance by the school band and ‘maestro sports’ by the students.
On the occasion, prizes were distributed to winners of various contests by Guest of Honour Priya Pandit and chief guest Rear Admiral R B Pandit. The sports meet concluded with a sprightly Chinese Dragon Dance.
Naval Wives Welfare Association coordinator Priya Sharma, NCS-K vice-chairman Cmde Sandeep Chakravarti, NCS-K director Cdr Shruti Dhawan, PTA executive members, Commanding Officers of various ships, parents of students and other dignitaries were also present.
