KOCHI: Transferring the Lulu Mall parking parking row from Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, Ernakulam, to the Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, Kottayam, the Kerala High Court has directed the complainant in the case and opposite parties to appear before Forum on March 19 at 11 am. Meanwhile, the court accepted the report filed by Consumer Redressal Forum, Ernakulam bench, stating that the vehicle number of its member was mistakenly entered in the complaint against Lulu’s parking fee collection.

The court issued the order while disposing of the petition filed by Lulu Group challenging the order of the Forum directing the management of Lulu to deposit with it the amount being collected as parking fee. The court also set aside the interim order of the forum.

The court directed the Kottayam Forum to complete the process and pass final orders within three-four months from the date of the appearance of the parties. Rema George of Kottayam had filed the plea before the forum that Lulu was charging illegal parking fee. According to her, she is residing in Puthuppally and it will be more convenient for her, if the case is transferred to the Forum at Kottayam. She also submitted that she sought the Forum to restrain from levying any parking fee and the relief granted by the Forum was to deposit the fee before the forum.

Lulu has made certain allegations in connection with the registration number of the car involved in the complaint.

However, the forum in its report stated that the registration number of the car was wrongly given in the complaint. Lulu later submitted that it does not intend to make any submissions regarding the car that was involved in the complaint.
