KOCHI: The Manarcadu Social Service Society (MASS), a farmers cooperative based in Kottayam will set up an International Sustainable Academy for Fairtrade and Organic Farming at Idinjamala in Idukki district.
“The academy will propagate the importance of Fairtrade and organic farming amongst the farmers. It will be an institution for research and knowledge sharing for both resident and overseas students,” said Bijumon Kurian, president, MASS and MD, Plantrich Agritech Pvt Ltd, at a press conference here on Tuesday. MASS will also launch a cafe chain, Cafe de Monde with its specialty brand of premium organic coffee. “Cafe de Monde will be an exclusive top-of-the-line experience cafe chain. With this brand we propose to redefine the coffee beverage segment through clear, differentiating factors,” said Bijumon.
