KOCHI: Jishnu made his debut with a super hit film - ‘Nammal’ directed by Kamal also marked the entry of a promising young talent into the filmdom.

After the success of his first film, Jishnu donned important roles, including the protagonist, in an array of films. In what could be termed a ‘dream start’ for a young actor like him, Jishnu soon got a ticket to Bollywood, along with offers from Tamil.

But, destiny had already written a different script for Jishnu, who passed away the other day at the age of 35. His dream to pursue an illustrious career and to become a successful actor were shattered soon.

It started as a throat pain, and after various tests doctors told him it was cancer, which had started to spread to his tongue. Doctors said the only solution was surgery. Jishnu’s life was extended through a surgery conducted a few years ago, but at the cost of his ability to speak. The condition also made it difficult for him to eat and drink.

In such a situation, a normal person would lose confidence and surrender to fate. But, Jishnu was a brave warrior who literally fought for his life. His willpower and ability to deal with things positively helped him a lot in the fight.

Even at the advanced stage of the disease, Jishnu found time to interact with his fans through Facebook and share positive thoughts to motivate them.

“Being positive and always wearing a smile  make a lot of difference. I’m in ICU now... nothing to worry. This is kind of my second home now..I have fun here. I was sleeping when my doctor came for rounds. I woke up as soon as he came and gave him a bright smile. I felt like doing so as I kind of like the doctor. He also has a huge smile always. What he told me kept me thinking. He said it was so good to see a smiling patient as it gave energy to him to perform better. Although I smile a lot, I started smiling at every situation now.”

Jishnu’s post was shared by many, because of the positive energy behind those words. That is the reason why his friend Prithviraj remembered him through a tweet that said, “a life cut short, but many a lesson to be learnt from the fight that he put up. He will forever remain a great example, regardless of what life throws up.”
