Kochi resident Arun Prabhakar bought the Pulimurugan necklace for Rs 1.15 lakh.

KOCHI:  When Mohanlal fan Arun Prabhakar heard that the Lal store was auctioning off the necklace from the megastar’s hit movie, ‘Pulimurugan’, he didn’t hesitate to make a very good bid.

In no time, he became the highest bidder, buying the mock ‘tiger teeth’ necklace, strung on a leather strip, for a whooping Rs 1.15 lakh.

Arun, a hotelier by profession, says that purchasing a memorabilia from his favourite movie was a dream come true. “This necklace was an important part of the film and I am glad that I have been able to own it. I am already getting it framed,” says Arun, who is also an antique collector.

Arun also feels strongly about the store’s contribution to charity. “I am glad that the money spent on the necklace will be used for charity. It is a worthy cause started by the actor,” he added.

He feels that the worth of the necklace will only increase over the years. “Twenty-five years down the lane, it will be of indefinite value,” said Arun.

Ask the Thoppumpady resident, which was his most favourite part in the movie, he says, “The entire film was fantastic, thanks to the excellent teamwork and the extra effort put in by Lal sir,” he adds.

According to the organisers, this is the first piece which was sold through the online store, which was started recently. The superstar is auctioning off items from his movies.

The watch from ‘Oppam’, worn by the superstar, was also sold, although not through the online store. The sunglasses, from his upcoming movie, ‘Villain’, directed by B Unnikrishnan, will also be auctioned through the store.
