KOCHI: ‘Enter at your own risk, touch nothing and nothing touches you’ reads a board that leads to a stall set up by the English department.
"People normally have a notion that English literature is all about Shakespeare. We wanted to break the notion through this stall on Gothic literature”, says Shilpa, a student of English department. This is a scenario out of the Albertian International Education Expo-2017, which recently concluded at the St Albert’s College in Kochi.
The aim of the expo was to bring together the best educational programmes at the bachelors’ and masters’ level from all over the country and even international institutions to students desiring to pursue their higher education in a multitude of disciplines. There were around 200 stalls featuring interesting stories of ghosts and even more serious subjects like rocket science.
The first stall ‘Chronicles of Albertia invites us to the history of the college from the stone laying ceremony to the recently concluded expo AIEE 2017.
There were also several stalls featuring innovative products made by students of the college.
A pollution absorption technique making use of the coconut husk was a main attraction. A planetarium has also been set up as a part of the expo.
“There were seminars and talks from scientists from ISRO,” teachers with the department said. The sky watch at night was also one of the major attractions.
