KOCHI: The district administration will implement the land record computerisation project from Tuesday, following which transfer of registry will be digitised. The project will be implemented in 73 villages, where resurvey has been completed.

“To make transfer of registry completely online and to ensure error-free village records, land owners who intend to sell their property should collect the thandaper account from the village office concerned before preparing a new title deed,” said a release issued by District Collector K Mohammed Y Safirulla. The newly created document will be fool-proof and will help the subsequent purchaser avoid all sorts of future problems regarding the land.

“As soon as the document gets registered, the same will be scanned by the sub-registrar and will be sent to the village officer for transfer of registry. The same will be processed without any further application. SMS facility will be provided to intimate the status to the title holder. The time delay for transfer of registry will be avoided and the whole process will be made transparent,” the release stated.

“A separate provision has been made in the software for those documents which have already been registered, but transfer of registry is yet to be completed. A website (revenue.kerala.gov.in) has been created for the purpose. The public can scrutinise the progress of the application at any stage from anywhere,” it said.

A meeting to discuss the implementation of the project was chaired by the District Collector on Monday. District Registrar, Sub-Registrars, Additional Tahsildars, Village Officers, project co-ordinators and officers from NIC and Akshaya attended the meeting.

The digitisation work in the remaining 54 villages in the district is in progress. The district administration aims to complete the same in three months, thereby achieving 100 per cent digitisation of transfer of registry in the district.

22 lakh records digitised

Dedicated teams were formed at the taluk level to complete the digitisation project. The team has been working for the past six months to achieve the feat. As part of the project, around 22 lakh records, including village records, thandaper register and land details, were digitised.
