Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth varsity launched

Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth University for Sanskrit and Indic Traditions on Sunday was officially inaugurated at a function here.

KOCHI: Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth University for Sanskrit and Indic Traditions on Sunday was officially inaugurated at a function here.

The new institution is a de novo deemed university under the UGC and presently operates from two campuses - the Chinmaya Eswar Gurukula campus at Peppathy in Ernakulam and Chinmaya Naada Bindu Gurukula campus at Kolwan in Pune. It presently offers courses in a number of traditional and contemporary streams.

K V Thomas MP, who addressed the gathering,  said such courses on Sanskrit and Indic traditions run by this institution can bring together ancient Indian knowledge and modern disciplines.
Jose K Mani MP, Anoop Jacob MLA, block panchayat president Jessie Peter, block panchayat ward member Rajeev Sridhar and ward member Sheeba Sudhakaran as well as varsity dignitaries B Mahadevan, Swami Advayananda, Swami Sharadananda, P Geervani and K K Rajan and BJP state chief Kummanam Rajasekharan were present.
