Cops did not threaten me: Dileep's aide Nadirshah

KOCHI: Filmmaker Nadirshah, a close aide of remanded actor Dileep, was once again interrogated by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the actor assault case at the Aluva Police Club on Sunday.
Nadirshah arrived at the Aluva police club by around 10 am and was let go by around 3 pm after the questioning. Rural SP AV George said Nadirshah fully cooperated with the interrogation. “I cannot reveal what he said. He was questioned and his statement was recorded. Everything the police needed to know was asked. He fully cooperated with the interrogation,” George told reporters.

Nadirshah said he believed in Dileep’s innocence. “I believe Dileep is innocent. There was no threat from the cops to force me into giving a statement to trap Dileep. Many people told me such pressures are a possibility, but nothing of the sort happened,” he said. He said the police were not at all intimidating during the questioning.

“Rumours targeting me are doing the rounds in the case. It was also necessary for me to appear before the SIT to reveal the truth. There was no pressure or threat during the questioning. No questions to trap Dileep were raised but questions about Dileep’s case were asked, obviously. The police also made no threats of arrest. I was fearful as it was my first time dealing with the police and the court,” Nadishah said.
He also claimed to have given ‘satisfactory’ replies to the cops about allegations of money being handed over to Pulsar Suni, the key accused, through him. He reiterated he did not know Suni had called him until the cops told him.

“I recorded the calls which came on my phone and handed over it to police. I realised the caller was Pulsar Suni when the police informed me. Told the police I have no association with him. The police and the court will decide the rest,” Nadirshah said. Both Dileep and Nadirshah subjected to a 13-hour interrogation in June, before Dileep was arrested and placed in remand. The Angamaly Judicial First Class Magistrate Court will pronounce the verdict on Dileep’s bail plea on Monday.
