KOCHI:When three Malayali IT professionals met at Infopark in Kochi, their alliance led to the creation of a music video. A music video that helped two teenagers meet and depart in tune and rhythm. A visual treat that once again begs us to take a note of the picturesque location of Kadamakkudy. An earworm that hums about love and heartbreak.

Led by Punalur native Melwin Ambatt, the group of engineers has conceived a music video titled Poovithal Pole. Shot entirely in Kadamakkudy, the video tells the story of young love between two teens Roy and Meera, and Roy’s love for Royal Enfield Bullet. “The story is set in the 1990s. Kadamakkudy was the only place that fit into our theme,” says Melwin.

The video was shot at the end of March. “The video had a few scenes in the school at Kadamakkudy. So we had to hurry through the shooting before the school finally closed for the summer,” he says.
Young actors Akash Santhosh and Jasnya Jayadeesh don the role of Roy and Meera. The song in the music video, directed by Neelesh E K, was written and composed by Asiyath Rajila and Rameez Madhurakuzhiyil respectively.

Rameez notes that the song was actually written and composed two years ago. “Though we wanted to produce and release a video for the song, we failed to get a platform. But things changed when my colleague Arjun Menon, who is the project designer heard the song,” says Rameez. He adds that Arjun has also acted in the video.

What is interesting about the music video’s plot is that it is just a part of another story. “I have a feature film in mind, for which the script has already been written. We wanted someone to back and produce the film. So this music video was made in the likes of a pilot project,” says Melwin. The music video, released by Muzik247 on YouTube in mid-July, has already received more than 2,23,000 views.
