Kunal Kapoor has been preparing hard for his role in Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Doga’, a film based on the comic book action hero.
Anurag has told Kunal to “build a better body” and Kunal is striving hard to achieve it in a limited time. He had already been training but since it seemed impossible to meet Anurag’s demands within a limited time Kunal approached his ‘Rang De Basanti’ co-star Aamir Khan to help him out.
A source says, “Aamir Khan developed six packs for ‘Ghajini’ in a limited time. That impressed Kunal so much he has been taking special tips from Aamir for the role.” Kunal is seen working out at Aamir’s personal gym too. His character is supposed to look very strong as he is playing a desi superhero kind of character. The film requires him to learn certain skills. One such is ‘Paco’, also known as free running. Paco helps in building stamina and agility.
‘Doga’ is the alter-ego of an orphan named Suraj whom Daku Halkan Singh finds in a garbage dump as an infant. He is brought up by Daku Halkan Singh but treated like a dog. While in Halkan’s care, Suraj witnesses endless horrors that ultimately lead to his becoming Doga. When Suraj becomes Doga he wears a dog mask to hide his identity. Doga is the second most popular character created by Raj comics and has a fan following second only to Nagraj.
Kunal, who enjoys experimenting onscreen, loves this role. “It is one of the most exciting and exhilarating experiences I have ever encountered!”
Good luck!
