PATHANAMTHITTA: Poet S Ramesan has won the annual Mooloor award. A judging committee consisting of S.Ambikadevi, C.R.Prasad and C.Stephan unanimously selected ‘’S.Ramesante Kavithakal’’, the poetry collection of S.Ramesan, for this year’s award.
The Mooloor Award, instituted in the name of poet Mooloor Padmanabha Panicker, is sponsored by the Elavumthitta-based Mooloor Smaraka Samithi for the best poetry. The award carries a purse of Rs 5,000 and a citation.
The award will be presented by Transport Minister Mathew T.Thomas at a function to be held as part of the 140th birthday celebrations of Mooloor at the Mooloor Smarakom at Elavumthitta here on February 23.
Ramesan had earlier bagged the Cherukad Award and the Abu Dhabi Sakthi Award.
