MaRRS International Spelling Bee has announced the winners in six categories at the district-level spelling competition held at Nirmala Bhavan Girls Higher Secondary School here the other day. The objective is to enhance the spelling and literary skills of children by encouraging them to explore the English language, expand their vocabulary and improve their communication and comprehension skills.

 Nearly 1,000 selected students from 50 top English Medium schools from the district had participated in competitions in six categories. The winners and runners-up are now eligible to participate in the Kerala State Championship, which will be held at Delta Study CBSE School, Fort Kochi, on April 18 and 19.

 The winners in various categories are: Category-I - First prize - Uthara, Trivandrum International School, Second prize- A. Athira Holy Angels’ Convent (CBSE) School, Third prize - Dhanya L. Faiz, Trivandrum International School.

 CATEGORY-II - First prize - Shahnas Nazeer, Carmel Girls HS School, second prize - Pranav Menon, The Gurukul, Venkod, Third prize - Athira Susan George, MGM Central Public School.

 CATEGORY-III - First prize - Aditi Pradeep, Holy Angels’ Convent (CBSE) School, Second prize - Gitanjali Krishnan, Trivandrum International School, Third prize- Manna Joji, Sarvodaya Vidyalaya.

 CATEGORY-IV - First Prize -  Ann Joseph, Alan Feldman Public School, Kazhakkoottam, Second prize - Arathi Anna George, MGM Central Public School, Third prize - Gayathri Unnikrishnan, Trivandrum International School,

 CATEGORY- V - First prize -  Suraj V. Ayyappan, Trivandrum International School, Second prize - Basma M. Sheera, MGM Central Public School, Third prixe - V.I.  Mittal, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pattom.

 CATEGORY- VI - First prize - Joel Sam Mathew, Trivandrum International School, Second prize- V.Anjana Jay, Trivandrum International School, Third prize - Bency Isaac, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pangode.

 The prizes will be awarded at the venue of the State-level championship on April 18. All the winners will receive a cricket bat autographed by Sachin Tendeulkar and sponsored by Aviva Life Insurance Corporation India Ltd.
